INNO ECO-SYSTEM project

The European co-funded project entitled: Creating Innovation Ecosystem for Support of Employability Opportunities of IT Young Talents in the Cross-Border Region (INNO-ECOSYSTEM) has been approved under the framework of the Interreg-IPA CBC Cooperation Programme Greece-Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020″.

Project’s Objectives
The project INNO-ECOSYSTEM aims:

• to strengthen and support the cross-border innovation and opportunity-driven entrepreneurship through provision of rich offer for IT young talents such as skills development,  links to corporate enterprises interested to either employ them or support their start-up idea, provision of co-living/co-working spaces attractive for entrepreneurs, startups, freelancers and digital nomads, a series of promotional, networking activities and possibilities for professional engagement through digital directory.

• To boost innovation-driven culture in cross-border area through practicing new tools that lead to youth employment: 1) corporate startups networking and 2) hackathon events that attract IT young talents to work on problem solution while mentored and coached and 3) experience exchange through technology forums.

About the Programme

The Interreg IPA CBC Programme ”Greece –Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020”
is a cross-border cooperation Programme co-financed by the European Union under
the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA II). The strategy statement of the
Programme is “to enhance territorial cohesion by improving living standards and
employment opportunities holding respect to the environment and by using the
natural resources for upgrading of the tourism product”. The total budget of the
Programme for the period 2014-2020 is 45.470.066,00 €.

Cooperation area

The eligible area of the Programme consists of the Regions of Florina, Kilkis, Pella, Serres and Thessaloniki (Greece) and the Regions of Pelagonia, Vardar, Southeast and Southwest (Republic of North Macedonia).

The Programme is built upon the following three Priority Axes;

Priority Axis 1: Development and Support of Local Economy
Priority Axis 2: Protection of Environment – Transportation
Priority Axis 3: Technical support

Expected results:

Improved health and social services for the population living in the cross-border region
Further jobs created in the tourism sector
Improved access to local transport infrastructures, faster connections to main corridors, efficient border crossing services, transport services using innovative technologies
Improved waste management or recycling systems
Improved measures addressing natural risks (floods, forest fires) and environment protection
